FACTORS THAT HAVE SHAPED FOOD AND NUTRITION STATUS
POLITICAL WILL & COMMITMENT; THE KENYA CONSTITUTION 2010, VISION 2030,BIG 4,ASTGS, RECOGNIZES THAT EVERY PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO BE; FREE FROM HUNGER, AND TO HAVE ADEQUATE FOOD OF ACCEPTABLE QUALITY (ARTICLE 43 1 (C)), EVERY CHILD HAS THE RIGHT TO BASIC NUTRITION. (ARTICLE 53 1 (C)) CONSUMERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO GOODS AND SERVICES OF REASONABLE QUALITY AND TO THE INFORMATION NECESSARY FOR THEM TO GAIN FULL BENEFIT FROM GOODS AND SERVICES AND; TO THE PROTECTION OF THEIR HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ECONOMIC INTERESTS. Key ongoing policies/plans
KENYA’S APPROACH TO FOOD SECURITY COMBINES LONGER-TERM THROUGH POLICIES THAT RESPOND TO IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF THE POOR AND FOOD INSECURE. STRENGTHENING FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY COORDINATION THROUGH A MULTI- SECTORIAL APPROACH THAT IS GLOBALLY ACCEPTABLE I.E SCALING UP NUTRITION(SUN) IMPLEMENTATION OF KENYA FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY POLICY 2012 CUSTOMIZED TO DEVOLVED SYSTEM THROUGH AN IMPLEMENTATION FRAMEWORK 2017 REVIEW OF THE NATIONAL NUTRITION ACTION PLAN DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONAL AGRINUTRITION ACTION PLAN INCLUSION OF AGRINUTRITION IN THE AGRICULTURE STRATEGY UNDER DEVELOPMENT
