3. Microscopes
Always use 2 hands to carry; one on the arm and one on the base
Plug in; turn light on

4. Viewing Slides Start on LOW power objective lens Place slide on stage
Use COARSE focus to find specimen
Use FINE focus to make image clearer
Then move to HIGHER power obj. lens
Only use FINE adjustment to focus ! Using coarse may break the slide or squash your specimen

5. Making Slides
Get slide and cover slip ready (make sure they are clean)
Place specimen (one drop of water) on slide.
Hold cover slip at 45°angle and place over drop; careful not to trap any air bubbles
Observe under microscope
