It is a kind of application program used to perform any type of calculation including simple and complex.

Problem: Prepare a marksheet for Kamal Roll:102 who scored 70 in Bangla, 80 in English, 90 in Math, 85 in G.Sc, and 45 in ICT. Also calculate total marks.
Solution:
Step-1:Open a new worksheet
Step-2: Click on A1 cell and Type Name
Step3: Click on B1 cell and type Kamal
Step-4: Click on A2 cell and type Roll
Step-5: Click on B2 cell and type 102
Step-6: Click on A3 cell and type Bangla, on A4 cell type English, on A5 cell type Math, on A6 cell type G.Sc and on A7 cell type ICT

Step-7 Click on B3 cell and type 70, on B4 cell type 80, on B5 cell type 90, on B6 cell type 85 and on B7 cell type 45
Step-8: Click on A8 cell and Type Total
Step-9: Click on B8 cell and type =sum(B3:B7) and press enter
Step-10: So Total 370 will be displayed on B8 cell.
We can also type=B3+B4+B5+B6+B7 to calculate total marks

12. Arithmetical function of Spreadsheet program
Summation can be done in two ways:
1. By pressing auto sum
2. By writing formula
Subtraction
Subtraction process is same as summation , but there is no way of auto subtraction
Example: To subtract cell values of D2 from D3 we have to write =D3-D2 in the destination cell/formula bar
