Examples of Ways to Remix and Revise
Remix an OER to meet the changing needs of students. A teacher translates a web page about Queen Elizabeth from English to French. A teacher replaces pictures depicting Russian children working on a water project with images that are more familiar to her students in Ghana. A teacher changes some wording in a fourth grade unit on spaceflight to make it better suited for his third grade students.

Quality Key points to remember about quality:
Content needs to be relevant Review final product for continuity when using multiple sources Define terms when needed Clean up the presentation using an editor Make note of the tone and voice used in the OER Expect a few challenges when remixing and adapting OER materials.

Translation Make sure that you use an editor and recheck with a native speaker for clarity. Check with the OER developers to see if alternative languages are available.

Offline Versions Access is available without Internet connections
Pages may be zipped and opened at a later date Check the license to verify that reuse and modifications are permitted.

Accessibility Begin with the end in mind and make plans to create accessible version of your product Verify the code for mark ups so that screen readers can access the HTML codes Use CSS for fonts, colors, alt text,and content presentation Follow accessibility guidelines – access for all Provide alternatives when needed
