Census An official count or survey of a population, typically recording various details of individuals.

Step 1: Census Advertisement
While watching the film clip, answer the following questions on your paper.

Census Advertisement What is the purpose of the U.S. government putting out this advertisement? What are the benefits of taking part in the census according to the video? Who do you think the video is targeted for?

Step 2: Geoterm Definitions
For each slide, write down the definition on your paper and draw a little picture underneath each word representing that term.

Population The number of people who live in a geographic area (state, city, country).

Urban A built up geographic area with concentrated with a high population (more than 2500 people). Ex. most cities

Rural A geographic area that is usually sparsely population (less than 2500 people).

Population Density The number of people living in a unit of land. For instance, 1000 people per square mile. High density= urban areas Low density= rural areas
