3 What is a Symposium? A meeting or conference for the discussion of some subject, where several speakers talk (dictionary.com) A formal meeting at which several specialists deliver short addresses on a topic or on related topics (Merriam Webster) Or as it relates to this presentation… Chance for undergraduates in the cnr to present their research to peers, faculty, staff, parents, and guests and learn about others’ research. Celebrate everyone’s hard work and share what you’ve been up to! Only day everyone gets dressed up! Bailee

Unlike any other learning experience! Become an expert on a topic Professional Development Work closely with a professor Project management skills Present elsewhere Scholarship Employment Graduate school Shows drive/initiative Emily

6 Finding a Mentor/Project
Use the comprehensive faculty interest list Send an or visit office hours Schedule an appointment and show commitment Sending an Address/Greet Recipient. State who you are and why you are contacting them. Add any additional necessary information. Request a response. If looking to meet, state your availability right away and ask if they would be available at any of those times or ask when their office hours are. Close with a thank you.
