Police are now calling themselves PIGs. That stands for: Pride Integrity and Guts

3 The mood of our modern times in blunt terms is to reject authority
The mood of our modern times in blunt terms is to reject authority. This of all matters is most basic. To whom shall we grant the right…

4 This is critical. This is where all servants of the Lord must take their stand. God has absolute right to rule over you and me. Why? He is Creator and Maker of all. He is omnipotent – all powerful. Because of this alone, we must yield to Him unconditionally…

5 to see the authority of God exercised through His Word
Purpose: to see the authority of God exercised through His Word

6 I Jesus is LORD A. The Good Confession Has Been Made

7 1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

8 1 Timothy 6:13 “I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate.”

9 John 18:37 “Pilate therefore said to Him, ‘So You are a king?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’”

10 1 Timothy 6:14-16 “That you keep the commandment… until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He brings about at the proper time – He Who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and the Lord of lords; Who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light; Whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.”

“The Lookout” March 20, 1988 “Not just that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, but also and principally – that He is our King. In so doing we are swearing allegiance to Him as our only Lord. For Christians this confession is summed up in the words “Jesus is Lord!” Jack Cottrell (teacher, preacher, writer)

15 In the person of Christ, God Himself entered the world
In the person of Christ, God Himself entered the world. The full measure of God’s being and authority rest upon Him (Colossians 2:9). Thus a confession has been made and must be made – Jesus, He is Lord!

23 Galveston seawall as it is today… Galveston seawall being built…

24 Conclusion and Summary
Well, there was a mistake. The telegram was in error and that seawall stands to this day! The Word of God is even more SOLID than this seawall… This is why Jesus is Lord, His Word is Final, and Bible Knowledge is Imperative!
