2. Description
A highly infections airborne viral illness common in children.

3. Scientific Description
Measles rash is due to viral replication in the corneal layer, in keratinocytes of the epidermis, and in the papillary layer of the dermis

5. Cause
When the person with the contagious illness coughs, sneezes or talks the infected droplets spray into the air and people inhale it. The droplets can also land on a surface and they stay active for many hours. You can receive the virus by touching your fingers to your mouth, nose or eyes after touching the surface.

6. Cure
You can’t cure the virus itself but you can treat the symptoms. Doctors may recommend taking acetaminophen to relieve fever and muscle aches. To prevent getting the virus, get vaccinated and don’t travel to places where it is common.

7. Worst Case Scenario
Pneumonia and inflammation of the brain are life-threatening complications that may occur if measles go untreated. Other complications may include ear infection, bronchitis, miscarriage, and blindness. Death is also a possible outcome.

8. Fun Facts There was a serious outbreak of measles in 2014.
Measles is not genetic and happens in babies more often.
There is such thing as the DisneyLand outbreak. CDC reports that Dr. Palton said Out of 110 patients, 45% were unvaccinated.
