3 3 Register to make your Student ID also your Library Barcode. Request a library barcode at the Circulation Desk at the entrance of the library. The registration process is quick. A barcode is attached to the back of your student ID, and is used to check out library materials. You are not required to update the barcode each semester.

4 4 Reference Area The Reference Collection includes general encyclopedias, dictionaries, and a variety of subject-specific materials; a great place to start a research project!

5 5 Rooms 101C and 101D Rooms 101C and 101D in the reference area are equipped with TV/VCRs and stereos for videotape, CD, or cassette use. Both rooms may be reserved for group study.

6 6 Circulating Collection The circulating collection (items you may check out of the library) includes books, videotapes, and CDs. Most items can be checked out for 3 weeks. You can renew books by stopping by the library, calling (342-4261 ext 2247) or online from the librarys web page.

7 7 Law Collection The Law Collection includes a variety of legal reference materials, and is used primarily by Business Law and Criminal Justice students. These materials must be used in the library.

8 8 Fiction Collection If you are looking for novels by Stephen King, Patricia Cornwell, or other popular authors, browse the Fiction collection. Fiction titles in the online catalog are identified with the letter F and the first three letters of the authors last name in the call number. F Kin

9 9 True Crime Fantasy and Science Fiction Collections These paperback collections are located near the magazine/periodicals area.

10 10 Recent back issues of newspapers, and Microfilm/Microfiche The library retains three months of local and regional newspapers in print. Back issues of periodicals/magazines are available on microfilm or microfiche in the gray steel cabinets.

11 11 Microform Reader-Printers Many of the back issues of periodicals/magazines are available on Microfilm; use these machines to print copies of articles. Please ask for assistance at the circulation desk.

12 12 Periodicals Area Current and back issues of magazines, research journals, and newspapers are available in this area.

13 13 Historical Collections Room Rockingham County genealogical materials and other local history materials are available for research use in the library. This collection attracts visitors from across North Carolina and the United States.

14 14 Circulation Desk and Photocopiers Come to the Circulation Desk to check out books, videos, and materials on reserve for classes. Request print jobs from computers and pick up books and articles requested through Interlibrary Loan.

15 15 Spanish Language Collection The Spanish Language collection, located near the Reference area, includes approximately 600 books, Spanish language magazines/periodicals, ESL materials with cassettes and videotapes, and 3 computers with Spanish language interfaces.
