Power in AC Circuits Average power = effective volts × effective amps
Voltage and current are both in phase. When the voltage is at a peak positive value, the current is at peak positive value. When the voltage is at a peak negative value, the current is at peak negative value. The power is always positive. The maximum power is given by: Minimum power = 0.
