7.2 Plasma Membrane Selective Permeability ( pur - me - uh - BIH - luh - tee ) is a property that allows some substances to pass through a membrane while keeping others out. Analogy = a similarity in some respects between things that are otherwise dissimilar. Like a fishing net, it allows water and some small fish through, but keeps the bigger fish from going through.
