Freedmen’s Bureau An organization that supervised all relief and educational activities relating to refugees and freedmen, including issuing rations, clothing, education, medicine, etc.

Sharecropping A way in which freedmen could work and plantation owners would have laborers Not always a legitimate form of labor/work
