AQUATIC BIOMES are determined by: Depth Flow Water chemistry Temperature FRESHWATER (no salt, only 3% of all water on Earth) SALTWATER (marine, ocean, 97% of all water on Earth) FLOWING (animal adaptations: streamlined, suckers, hooks) STANDING (Water that is not flowing) ESTUARY (salt & freshwater mixed, for example when a river flows into the sea) OCEAN (e.g. kelp, fish, crabs, ) RIVERS (large bodies of water that flow into other bodies of water a another body of water or the sea STREAMS (a small, narrow river) Ponds (a small body of still water) Lakes (a large body of still water)
