1. Energy Quantities and Units Scavenger Hunt
Challenge: With a partner seek out and document energy convertor devices whose operation depends on each of the energy quantities listed in Column 1 of Table 2 on pg.23 of your energy converters book. At least 10 of the quantities must be found on devices from our class. The rest of the quantities may be from devices found on the internet.
Method:
For each device you find:
State the name of the device (take a picture for the ones you find in class)
Find the operational specifications for that device (usually a sticker) and note:
each relevant quantity type (ex. Power)
the value and unit associated with it (ex. 233HP)
Identify the main energy conversions that happen during operation of the device
For each device create a visual representation (i.e. drawings, collage etc.) that shows all of the information from #1-3 above.
Note: You DO NOT have to include Mass, Weight, Spring Constant, Mass Density, Moment of Inertia
