1 Oscilloquartz Updates
Brandywine Communications 2018 Sales Meeting Cody WY May 15/

2 Adva/Oscilloquartz Adva/OSA are primarily a telecom focused company
They do overlap into other markets and want to broaden their footprint Defense Power Utilities Their distribution model is based on Adva Non-exclusive VAR This presents some challenges to us, but they will tilt the scales towards VARs that are successful Register any opportunity to lock out GMA Brandywine has some advantages wrt their other US VAR’s that will help Ability to add value System integration

3 Why bother with OSA? There are some products/applications that ADVA have that nobody else has. Investment to duplicate is beyond Brandywine’s reach They are on track to become the dominant player in telecom. (e.g. India) Microsemi acquisition by Microchip System business not a good fit for MicroChip Change of technology needs new investment – Microsemi are already “playing catch-up” Rep companies differ in their territories – the telecom part of OSA may actually be a huge opportunity for some of you To my knowledge, GMA are only a competitor for cesium – they have to sell Spectracom for timing where there is overlap

4 What does OSA do that we cant do?
Cesium Network Management Systems The strategic crossover for Brandywine with OSA is full featured network management systems Telecom network has many many nodes Think cell towers, microcells, picocells, femtocells How do I know it is all working ? It is complicated – where do I hire/train enough experts? If there is network connectivity to the sites, then they can be centrally managed from a central Network Operations Center (NOC) SyncJack firmware allows continuous assurance of timing quality and flow There are other markets that have similar characteristics to telecom Test ranges Military comms. ( with caveats due to Cybersecurity) Power grid Rail and transportation infrastructure Smart highways ( in the future)

5 What can we do that OSA can’t do?
Brandywine is in discussion with OSA regarding potential joint product development to help adress our markets Modules for OSA products SAASM/M-code GPS Time Code modules Low phase noise 5, 10 MHz

6 GPS vulnerability as a market driver
Telecom market wants alternatives to GPS for cost reasons GPS vulnerability is recognized as an issue, but is not the main reason to use “other than GPS” Cost of antenna installation is primary motivation DoD wants alternatives to GPS because of jamming/spoofing Land based systems can use the same solutions as telecom PTP as a calibrated backup can work Cesium for autonomous holdover Assisted Partial Timing Support (ITU-T G8275.2) is telecom standard Calibrates PTP link from network when GPS is available Eliminates much uncertainty about network path asymmetry

15 Case Study – Range Upgrade

16 OSA sales commissions Standard commission on OSA boxes – 5410 etc
Cesium We currently struggle because there is no standard VAR discount to us, so each order is a on a case by case basis

17 Summary We plan to work with OSA to use their unique capabilities to differentiate our offering from MicroSemi and Spectracom SyncJack sync assurance across a network Network Management system Cesium
