Budget Planning Process Funding Sources
IEEE CTS Funding to Chapters and Affinitive Groups is from the following sources: Rebate from IEEE HQ: was $22,000 in 2016. Surplus from Workshop and co-hosted Conferences Reserved fund from Investment Account. Subsidy from Society requested by active chapters. IEEE-USA and IEEE PACE Program Corporate Donation and Patronage to IEEE CTS Events.

Budget Planning Process
Chapter Goal Setting: Plan activities to support members’ need, provide opportunity in education, training and networking, increase membership, ect. Plan Workshop, Seminar and Conferences separately. Plan how to fund these events. Use Planning Form as below example:

Budget Planning Process Schedule
Budget Form and Financial Planning Guideline will be sent out by the end of October to all leaders. Completed Forms will be sent to the CTS Treasurers by December 1. CTS budget request will be rolled up and compared to prior and current budget and actual by Jan 15. CTS Chair and Team will evaluate and negotiate with Chapter to finalize the draft budget and will present to the Chapter Leadership team during the Spring Planning meeting in late Jan. Budget will be either adapted or modified in early Feb. and ready for execution.

Budget Planning Process Cost Control
CTS has limited financial resource. It is up to each Chapter to use the fund wisely. Use free venues for Technical meeting, such as University, Self service restaurant and Coffee Shop. Ask member to contribute to food cost. Get Corporate to pay for food. Use Volunteer to buy and deliver Food. Not spending more than $5 per head. Optimize/Wise Travel cost:. Economy Air and hotel
