1 Corinthians 16:13-14 “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love” (NKJV).

Paul’s Advice to the Corinthians
I. “Watch” (vs. 13). A. Jesus’ teachings on watchfulness (Matt. 24:36-44; 26:36-41; Mark 13:9). B. Paul’s teachings on watchfulness (1 Thess. 5:1-10). C. The “watchman for the house of Israel” (Ezek. 33:1-10).

II. “Stand Fast in the Faith” (vs. 13; Luke 18:8). A. Some hear the word but Satan snatches it from their hearts (Luke 8:12; 2 Thess. 2:9-12; James 1:13; Mark 5:1-20; Heb. 2:14; Rev. 20:1-3; 2 Tim. 2:26). B. Some receive the word but fall away quickly when tempted (Luke 8:13).

II. “Stand Fast in the Faith” (vs. 13; Luke 18:8). C. Some allow the word to be choked by cares, riches, and pleasures (Luke 8:14; Matt. 6:25-34; Heb. 13:5; 1 Tim. 6:6- 10; Heb. 11:25; Rev. 21:3-5).

III. “Be Brave, Be Strong” (vs. 13). A. The fate of the cowardly (Rev. 21:7,8; Matt. 10:27- 31; Ecc.12:13-14). B. The strength of the faithful (Eph. 6:10-16; 1 John 4:4).
