1 Meta: I can review concepts such as reflexive verbs, personal preparation vocab, possessive adjectives and ser vs. estar. I can identify, learn from and correct errors. I can ask for help when needed. Enfoque: Personal preparation (picture prompts)  Corregir errores: Test corrections Whole class discussion of common errors in Part A, B, and C Independent correction (opportunity to earn half points on Part B) Lectura: Interpretive Reading practice Escribir: Writing Practice Using words to show sequence and personal preparation vocab Boleto de salida: Preguntas del video "El amor es un regalo" y práctica con los pronombres posesivos

2 Enfoque: Complete the following sentences using the pictures
Enfoque: Complete the following sentences using the pictures. Conjugate the verb according to subject (who does and receives the action). 1. Todas las mañanas, *yo ___ ______________ a las seis y media. 2. ¡Mi hermano ___ __________ muy lentamente por una hora! 3. Mi hermana y yo ____ ______________ las uñas antes de ir a la fiesta. 4. *Tú ___ __________ con ropa elegante para tu cita romántica. 5. Finalmente, yo ____ ___________ los dientes antes de dormir. Period 1

3 Test Corrections You can earn half a point for each correction made to ONLY Part B of the test. After we go over some of the most common mistakes as a class, you will have some time to make your independent corrections. Please take this opportunity to ask for help, clarification or re-explanation. Our CUMMULATIVE final is only 2 and a half weeks away and will cover many of the concepts from this test. If you are struggling, this is the time to identify what you need more practice or review with and spend the next few weeks relearning and mastering. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TIME AND FINISH THE SEMESTER STRONG.

4 Clarification: When can you leave the reflexive pronoun attached?
ONLY when you have two verbs back to back in a sentence. This is the same in English.  "I need to shower (myself)". You only conjugate the first verb, "need" but leave "to shower" in the infinitive, original form. "Yo necesito ducharme". You only conjugate the first verb, "necesito" but leave "duchar" unconjugated. In this case, the reflexive pronoun "me" which indicates who does and receives the action, can stay attached. "You have to get dressed for the party" "Necesitas vestirte para la fiesta".

5 Lectura Our final exam in December will have a short reading followed by comprehension questions. Over the next few weeks, we will be practicing this skill. With a partner, you will take turns reading Las audiciones de Santiago aloud. Trade off reading each paragraph. When you finish reading, complete the questions.

6 Escritura Writing Practice: Our final will have 3 writing prompts for you to choose from. One will ask you to write about your daily routine. We will be practicing this and the other prompts over the next few weeks. For daily routine, it is important to include details such as the time of the day you do these activities or other words that show sequence/order of events. These include words like: En la mañana, en la tarde, en la noche...what do these translate to? A las seis, a las ocho, a las doce...What do these translate to? Primero, segundo, tercero, al final...What do these translate to? Luego, antes, despúes...What do these translate to?

7 El amor es un regalo: Watch the video and answer the questions in complete sentences
1. ¿Dónde está el hombre? 2. Escribe 2 a 3 frases sobre su rutina o su preparación personal y usa verbos reflexivos. (observe some of the activities he does). 3. Translate this sentence: En la noche, él se acuesta. 4. ¿Cuál es la fecha? (¿Qué día es?) 5. ¿Qué escucha el hombre?
