Move on When Ready Georgia’s New Dual Enrollment Program

2 Eligibility Be enrolled in the 9-12th grade
Be admitted to an eligible, participating postsecondary institution as a dual credit enrollment student Be enrolled in courses in the approved MOWR course directory Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the postsecondary institution

3 Award Amount Tuition, mandatory fees and books are covered by the MOWR program. Students will be responsible for course related fees

4 Application Procedure
An application must be submitted online. This application can be found on gafutures.org The application has three parts which must be completed and submitted to the Georgia Student Finance Commission Student and Parent High School Postsecondary Institution

5 Deadlines and Admissions Requirements
Deadlines are set by the postsecondary institution. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that all paperwork is submitted prior to the deadline. Admissions requirements (GPA, test scores) are set by the postsecondary institution

6 Impact on HOPE/GPA Dual credit enrollment hours taken at a postsecondary institution are not counted as attempted hours nor included in the combined paid hours limit for HOPE and Zell Miller scholarships Dual credit enrollment hours will impact both the student’s college and high school GPA

7 Postsecondary Options
Some options are: Advanced Academy of UWG Ecore Georgia Highlands College University of West Georgia West Georgia Technical College In addition, many private and public institutions have fully online programs for MOWR students

8 Is MOWR right for you? Many factors should be considered—meeting admissions criteria is only one of those factors Parents and students should make the decision after carefully considering the program advantages and disadvantages to the individual student
