2 Module 3 concentrates on the "pastor's meal" which is the best method for involving laity in ministry in order for discipleship to take place.  Four areas are covered in the "pastor's meal": church's vision, evangelism training, spiritual gifts discovery/training and discipleship through lay involvement.

7 The writer of Ephesians makes it clear that when Jesus ascended, He gave these gifts to the Church: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors, and Teachers. “When he ascended on high, He led captives in His train and gave gifts to men.” Ephesians 4:8

8 The gifts are called Functional Gifts because Paul says that all these gifts do not have the same function. Just as each member of the human body has a particular function to perform, so it is that each member of Christ’s body has supernatural gifts.

9 ADMINSTRATION-The gift of administration is the distinctive ability to coordinate and organize people and projects. Luke 14:28-30; Acts 6:1-7; I Cor. 12:28 PROPHECY-The gift of prophecy is the distinctive ability to boldly declare the truth of God, regardless of the consequences, calling people to righteous living. Acts 2:37-40; Acts 7:51-53;Acts 26:24-29; Cor. 14:1-4; I Thess. 1:5 MERCY-The gift of mercy is the distinctive ability to feel sincere empathy and compassion in a way that results in practical relief for people’s hurts, pain, and suffering. Matthew 9:35-36:Mark 9:41; Romans 12:8; I Thess.5:14 ENCOURAGEMENT-The gift of encouragement is the distinctive ability to appropriately communicate words of encouragement, challenge, or rebuke in the body of Christ. Acts 14:22; Romans 12:8; I Tim. 4:13; Hebrews 10:24-25 TEACHING-The gift of teaching is the distinctive ability to employ a logical, systematic approach to communicating the truth. Acts 18:24-28; Acts 20:20-21; I Cor. 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-14 HELPS-The gift of helps is the distinctive ability to work with and support other Christian’s ministry efforts. Mark 15:40-41; Acts 9:36; Romans 16:1-2; I Cor. 12:28 SERVICE-The gift of service is the distinctive ability to identify and meet the practical needs of others. Acts 6:1-7; Romans 12:7; Galatians 6:10; II Tim. 1:16-18; Titus 3:14 GIVING-The gift of giving is the distinctive ability to cheerfully and generously contribute personal resources to God’s work. 18 The pastor’s meal can be divided into two session
The pastor’s meal can be divided into two session. Session one would end with the meal. If you opt for the 2 week program, the spiritual gifts results are the hook to get them to come back.
