1 Critical Thinking How observant are you? Can you identify what is sitting right in front of you. You’ll have four minutes to come up with the answers. You’ll get a point for every four correct answers. No talking or cheating.

2 A different fruit (a total of twelve) is buried in every one of the following lines.  Example: A word is considered 'buried' when it can be read like P A R I S in the sentence "Grand-pa(pa ris)rises at seven every morning." Can you detect them? Ah! If I get my good ship home I'll find a tempting spot, Where mayhap pleasant flowers will bloom, And there I'll shape a charming cot. 6 Synthesis Essays 1. Read the prompt. Read each of the sources and annotate as needed (remember the believing/doubting game – note what you believe and doubt). 2. Take 12 minutes to plan your essay fully. Outline your entire essay. 3. Take 3 minutes to discuss with your group how you would approach this essay. 4. Read a sample that scored well on the AP exam. 5. Read the AP Performance Scores Q&A. 6. One stay, all others go – cannot be with someone from original group. Explain to your new group your biggest takeaway from your original group. 7. Take a few minutes to discuss with peers what you’ve taken away from this activity.
