Bellwork Roger wraps presents at a local gift shop. If it takes 1.4 meters of ribbon to wrap a present, how many can he wrap if he has 40 meters of ribbon? A miniature golf course has a bucket with 7 yellow golf balls, 6 green golf balls, 3 blue golf balls, and 8 red golf balls. If Tamika draws a golf ball at random, what is the probability that she will draw a yellow, blue, or red?

Problem Number One: Pedro pays $45 per month for his cell phone. He pays $0.25 for each text he sends and receives. If Pedro’s phone bill was $76.25 last month, how many texts did he send and received?

Problem Number Two: Tim and Lewis spent $20 for gasoline, $13.55 for their lunch, and $5 a piece for gifts for their younger sister. If the boys left home with a total of $67, how much do they have for their return trip?

Problem Number Three: Jim is walking along a balance beam. He starts at zero which is in the middle of the beam. He walks 5.3 feet forward, steps backward 7.75 feet. He then steps backward 1.2 feet,5 times in a row. Where is Jim on the balance beam?

Problem Number Four: You are mailing postcards from your trip. You spend $3.50 for each postcard and $0.28 for each stamp. If you spend a total of $7.98, how many post cards are you sending?

Problem Number Five: Cecil is performing an act on a tightrope. He begins his act as zero which feet and is in the center of the rope. He steps backward 6.7 feet, then walks forward 8.3 and 1.2 feet.. He continues his act by stepping backward 3.75 more feet. Where is Cecil on the tightrope?

Problem Number Six: Measurements showed that the water level of the reservoir was feet on the last day of April. On the last day of May the level had dropped feet. On he last day of June the level had risen 6.9 feet from what it was in May. What was the measurement of the water level on the last day of June?

Problem Number Seven: A cab company charges a flat fee of $2 plus $0.75 per mile. If Samuel takes a cab to the arena to watch a hockey game that is 23 miles away, how much will he pay?

Problem Number Eight: Mark makes $8.50 an hour working part time. If he gets $30 bonus this week, what is the fewest number of hours he must work to make at least $200?

Problem Number Nine: Kristin is renting ice skates at a rink. Stand A charges $2.50 plus $1.50 per hour. Stand B charges $5.00 plus $0.50 per hour. Which stand should she choose if she plans to skate for four hours?

Problem Number Ten: Danny is buying supplies for an art project. She spends $8 on a canvas and $2.50 on each color of paint. If she has $30.50, how many colors can she buy?
