The Tents of the Righteous
“The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous…” -- Psalm 118:15 The Scriptures use the concept of the righteous dwelling in tents to illustrate their spiritual priorities, willingness to work, and preparation for eternity.

The Righteous Dwelt in Tents
Indicating that “this world” was not their home -- Hebrews 11:8-16; 13:14; 1 Peter 2:11; Proverbs 14:11 Are we actively seeking the heavenly city?

The Righteous Pitched Their Tents
Indicating their preferences & priorities – Gen. 13:10-13; 26:24-25; 1 John 2:15-17; Colossians 3:1-2 What are our preferences? Are we pitching our tents toward Sodom?

The Righteous Made Tents
Indicating their willingness to work. Acts 18:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12; Thessalonians 3:10; Ephesians 4:28 Are we willing to work to provide for ourselves?

The Righteous Would “Put Off” Their Tents
Acknowledging their mortality and their preparation for eternity -- 2 Peter 1:12-14; 2 Corinthians 5:1-2; Hebrews 9:27 Since death is inevitable, are you ready to put off your tent?

The Lord has BIG TENT for the Saved
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations” Isaiah 54:2-3
