2 Parent Feedback Results
TDSB Conference Parents ranked the learning session topics based on their interest (41) Education, (40) Internet Safety, (39) Bullying, (32) Ages and Stages, (30) Mental Health, (29) Healthy Eating, (27)Physical Activity and (25)Sleep Routines Other suggestions for learning sessions included; relationship awareness, social media awareness, safety, academic support (math and reading), newcomer adjustment support and behaviour support.

Cnt’d 34 parents indicated they would be interested in promoting learning sessions in their community while 19 said they would be interested in planning of leraning sessions. 16 Parents were from Downtown Toronto, 11 Scarborough, 10 North York, 9 Etobicoke, 6 York, 4 East York, 2 Markham and 1 Burlington

5 Field Visits Opportunities
Build the relation with coalition members Get to know how different programs for 6-12 are implemented. Have an idea about the differences between licensed and unlicensed after school time programs. Discuss parents’ involvement challenges and differences among communities. Plan with members further steps and figure out participation levels.

6 Field Visits Findings The majority of members don’t have active parent groups except for Model Schools, family Day Care & West Neighborhood House. Parents are busy and barely have the time to be engaged. Parents at some communities respond to short and direct to the point inquiries/questionnaires. Academic achievements are of concern to most parents. Lack of resources on positive parenting for children
