ABRAHAM (Grandfather) Note: Abraham was the father of Isaac. Abraham had another son before Issac by the name of Ishmael. Ishmael’s mother was Hagar who was the handmaid of Sarah. ISAAC (Father) Isaac was the son who Abraham laid on the alter to sacrifice but God stopped him from slaying Isaac by providing the ram in the thicket. Genesis 22:1-19 LOVED ESAU Genesis 25: When the boys grew up, Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents. 28 Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob. Took Esau birthright Genesis 25:29-34 Stole Esau’s *blessing. Genesis Entire Chapter 27 Jacob gets the name Israel after he wrestles with the Angel of God as he is traveling to Esau. His hip is knocked out of joint but he keeps on wrestling and gains the name Israel. Genesis 32:24-25
