2 REVIEW Why did our department need to begin using a “recording system” to document the knowledge and skill acquisition of our students? A: It was mandated by CAA and CFCC

3 REVIEW Last week, we told you about some other types of portfolios that we considered. Name one of them. A: Three ring binder web site electronic portfolio using powerpoint

4 REVIEW Name one reason that we decided to go with ePortfolio instead of the other options. A: Web-based, security, convenience, multi-media format, can use it after graduation, selective sharing….

5 REVIEW Besides using ePortfolio to document your experiences in the CSD program, name another use that was mentioned last week. A: store membership cards, passport, DL, save papers, share video clips…

6 REVIEW Prior to ePortfolio, what was the primary means of determining if a student in our program had entry level competence in each area? A: quantitative data such as clock hours, grades, coursework completed…

7 REVIEW How does ePortfolio change that?
A: Students are now evaluated authentically, in a way that is more context-rich, using samples of performance on real-life tasks

20 “Rules” of Artifacts Use
An artifact cannot serve “double duty” Vary the types of elective artifacts used - Show an array of skills Vary the disorder area so that between your required and elective artifacts you have all 9 included at every level (whenever possible) - Show a breadth of knowledge

21 Like everything else in the world, the levels are subject to change
However, your current level will never change    The current, official version of the levels will always be available at the web site
