3. Advertisements
On a separate piece of paper, you will create a satirical advertisement that attacks an unfair or misleading claim, similar to the handbill in The Grapes of Wrath. Your goal is to mock a product, company, or campaign of your choice through text and illustration. Your first task is to brainstorm potential targets. Think about:
Any product you’ve purchased that did not work as advertised
Any product or company that was sued for false advertising or is known for misleading advertising
A campaign or politician’s empty promises or misleading remarks
A commercial or billboard that makes outrageous, difficult to prove statements

4. 30 Points - Due Tuesday (4/11)
Your advertisement must be on 8x11.5” paper and include the following:
-a heading featuring the product name
-a price
-customer feedback
-a picture of the product
-at least 2 elements of satire (irony, hyperbole, burlesque/incongruity, etc.)
-creativity, effort, and color
In addition to the paper advertisement, you will also include a separate, concise one to two paragraphs that explain your intended purpose (what are you attempting to satirize?), and all elements of satire used in your advertisement. You may also include any ridiculous fine print or caricature.
