3. Applying for a Secondary School
You are responsible for completing all paperwork and ensuring it is submitted on time.
If you have any queries, please contact Mrs Kirwan White our parent support worker or make an appointment to see me.
Find a school -> Submit your application -> Accept your offer.
If you do not live in Brent, you will need to apply to the council that you live in.

The process

4. Applying Online
When you apply on line and change your mind your last application is used.
When you apply on line you will be given a password and can check your offer on line but must accept your place in writing.
Press the submit button
Print your application for reference.

5. Additional Information
If you have any additional information about your child or circumstances then it must be included with the application.
All information must be sent with the application.

6. The Admission Authority for each of the schools that parents have listed as a preference will determine whether a place can be offered at that school.
Where a school has more applications than places available, the Admission Authority will use the school’s published admissions criteria to determine the order in which applicants will be offered places.
Parents will be notified of the outcome of their applications by the education authority of the borough in which they live.
No child will be offered more than one maintained school.
Parents must reply to confirm they want the place offered. If a parent does not reply, the offer of a place may be withdrawn.

7. To apply you must:
Use an application form supplied by the education authority in their borough of residence.
Choose up to six schools in total across all boroughs on the application form (make sure that you list your choices in order of preference).
Return/Submit this form to your LEA.
Fill in a supplementary form and Priests reference for each Catholic school. This form needs to be sent to the Secondary school(s) on or before the closing date. (Ask for a receipt)
Late applications will not be considered until places have been allocated

8. Closing date
For Catholic schools, a completed Priest’s reference form must also be sent to each of the Secondary school(s).
It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that all necessary forms are completed and returned to the correct address no later than the closing date.
