2. Which Parachute is Better?
We are using four different materials: Aluminum foil, paper, wax paper, and fabric.
The size used for each of the parachutes is roughly

Which Parachute is Better?
Our hypothesis is that the parachute made with the wax paper and the circle shape will keep the egg the safest.

4. Newton’s First Law
Newton’s first law of motion, or the law of inertia, states that an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by another force. The egg will start to move when we drop it from the chair. Gravity will pull it down. The law also says that an object in motion will stay in motion. We are using the parachute to act against gravity and bring the egg down softly without cracks.
***Inertia- the resistance of any physical object to a change in its state of motion or rest. It is proportional to an object's mass.
