Language Arts and Reading- The spelling phonics skill is r controlled vowels using ar. The skills we will focus on are compound words and multiple meaning words. Also, we will be doing holiday themed writing. Some of the Christmas Around the World grades are Reading depending on the skill. We will have spelling and vocabulary test.
Math- We will test on Unit 7 on Tuesday. Please practice subtraction using regrouping at home for extra practice. We will be reviewing and doing fun Christmas math throughout the rest of the semester.
Science-Earth and Space
Social Studies- Christmas Around the World
Health- Systems of the Body and Five Senses

If you would like to send any goodie bags for the students for the Christmas party, you are more than welcome. We currently have 17 students in our class.
Please have students dress festively on the 14th and 20th if possible, for our caroling programs. 
The Second Grade classes will be visiting the Elkhart Oaks Nursing Home on 12/14/17 to sing carols for the residents! The residents look forward to our program every year!
The Second Grade classes will be having a Christmas caroling program on December 20th at 1 p.m. in the Elementary gym. This will be a short program with all of the classes preforming together. We do hope that you can attend, and enjoy our Christmas cheer!
Students need 10 points between November 13th – December 15th with an 80% average for the 3nd 6 week prize. Second grade students must have 35 points and an 80% average for the Fall Party before December 15th.
