2 Question 2. How is the supply chain structured
Question 2. How is the supply chain structured. Map out (in words and diagrams) the stages that you can identify, the organisations involved in each stage and the functions they perform. How does the structure relate to your answer to Question 1? 

3 Question 2 Map out the stages of the supply chain diagrammatically using a Supply Chain Map. Describe what you have drawn. Explain how the structure relates to your answer to Question 1?  Explain how the structure supports the Strategic and Competitive Priorities. Consider : IKEA – why do they own Swedwood? SMART – why do they have SmartVille? Lego – why did they reduce the number of suppliers? 7-eleven – why do they deliver so regularly? How these things relate to the strategic and competitive priorities? and how do they add value for the customers?

5 In groups: Share your supply chains
Use a flip chart to re-draw the Supply Chain Map to combining all individual Supply Chain Maps Make a list of the strategic and competitive priorities you identified in your answer to question 1. Discuss how the Supply Chain Map supports these Strategic and Competitive Priorities. Share your work with the rest of the teams.
