The practitioner begins supine, then flexes her hip and lumbar spine so that her legs are directly above her face, in what is known as a plow pose, middle. She then uses her hands to cradle the small of her back, allowing for weight bearing and balancing through neck, shoulder, and elbow. This allows her to extend the hips into shoulder stand position.
