Instincts = unlearned patterns of behavior Humans not controlled by instincts alone Reflex = reaction to physical stimulus Drive = impulse to reduce discomfort THESE DO NOT CONTROL HUMAN BEHAVIOR

Sociobiology Studies biology as basis for human behavior
Behaviors are biologically based and passed on through genetics Critics say: people classified based on biology (superior race) too many factors are not biologically based (social contacts)
