The pie charts show that VATS patients have significantly (p < 0.01) less pain as measured by the most potent analgesic still required: severe—–schedule 2 narcotic; moderate—schedule 3 or lower; mild–nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or acetaminophen.
