1 Migrant workers in the USA.

2 MIGRANT WORKERS… Life as a migrant farmer was very hard during the Great Depression. Farmers struggled with low prices for the crops they produced. After WW1 the prices for the crops began to decrease.

3 MIGRANT WORKERS… A large amount of farmers were put on to farms in California. The farmers joined many other migrant workers on the farm. The wages went from $3.50 per day to $1.90 a day.

4 MIGRANT WORKERS… The farmers lived in temporary camps.
Mexicans and Mexican Americans became targets for discrimination. People were desperate for work

5 MIGRANT WORKERS… Agriculture in the USA was crippled.
California was relatively untouched. Farmers from the Midwest fled to California.
