Migrant workers in the USA.

MIGRANT WORKERS… Life as a migrant farmer was very hard during the Great Depression. Farmers struggled with low prices for the crops they produced. After WW1 the prices for the crops began to decrease.

MIGRANT WORKERS… A large amount of farmers were put on to farms in California. The farmers joined many other migrant workers on the farm. The wages went from $3.50 per day to $1.90 a day.

MIGRANT WORKERS… The farmers lived in temporary camps.
Mexicans and Mexican Americans became targets for discrimination. People were desperate for work

MIGRANT WORKERS… Agriculture in the USA was crippled.
California was relatively untouched. Farmers from the Midwest fled to California.
