directions Take out your stamp sheet. Make sure your name is on it.
Pick an assignment (vocab/1-1 notes/1-2 notes). Put it BEHIND your stamp sheet and drop it off at the very back lab bench on YOUR SIDE. The teacher will grade & stamp your homework and will tell you when to pick it up. Do your DNA. Set up your notes.

Levels of Organization Project
Create 8 boxes on your white sheet of paper. Title the boxes (according to the order of the Levels of Organization) with the following terms: Atom, Element, Molecule, Cell, Tissue, Organ, Organ System, & Organism. In complete sentences, provide a description of each Level of Organization. Draw a picture for each Level of Organization. Color your pictures. Number (or draw arrows) to show how your boxes are organized from “simple” to “complex”. Use all the space that is provided per box. Big open white spaces will be grades as “incomplete”.
3
Do now activity #3 List all the Levels of Organization in order.
Of all the Levels of Organization, which are not alive? What is the smallest unit of life? What is the difference between cells & tissues? What is the difference between cells & atoms? What is the difference between atom & molecule? What is the difference between controls & variables? Why must a human have all 7 Levels of Organization?
4
Do now activity #3 What is the difference between control & variable?
What are the 5 steps of the Scientific Method? What is an element? What is a molecule? What is homeostasis? What are the levels of organization? What is the difference between theory & hypothesis? What is the difference between results & conclusion?

Essential Question Diagram
Fold your white piece of paper in half (hamburger style). Label one side “human”. Label the other side “cell phone”. Draw an appropriate picture for each labeled side. Color your pictures. On the “cell phone” side list all the reasons why it can be considered a living thing. Then, list all the reasons that make it considered a non-living thing. On the “human” side list all the reasons why it can be considered a living thing. Then, list all the reasons that make it considered a non-living thing.
