T-REXicon for body paragraphs Body paragraphs need to go in order of your suntopics in your thesis statement.

4 Body Paragraphs= T-REXicon Paragraphs
T:  What this paragraph is about Charlie has such high hopes for his reunion with his dad, but it is a total disappointment. R: Specific reason To begin, his dad does not live up to Charlie’s expectations.   E: Elaborate on my reason by giving story details SHOWING my reader about my reason(evidence) After three years of not seeing each other, Charlie can’t wait to finally see his dad.  In fact, he is the one who arranged this lunch with his father.  His excitement is obvious since as he sees his dad walking through the train station, he admits that he is “terribly happy to see him again” (Cheever 1). Unfortunately, Charlie didn’t get to bond with his dad at all.  They go from restaurant to restaurant and didn’t even get to have a conversation besides the one time his dad “cross-questioned” him about baseball (Cheever 2).  By the end of their reunion, Charlie barely says more than a few words to his dad. X:  HOW DOES MY EVIDENCE PROVE MY POSITION Although their past relationship is never brought up and the reader doesn’t know their history, the fact is that Charlie is excited about this future experience.  His dad, however, makes no real attempt to get to know his son. He puts forth no effort and therefore, everything that Charlie hopes for never happens.      ICON: Sum-up your ideas; restate without repeating Clearly, sympathy should be felt for Charlie who never gets the father-son reunion he so desperately wants.

5 All Together… Charlie had such high hopes for his reunion with his dad, but it was a total disappointment. To begin, his dad does not live up to Charlie’s expectations.  After three years of not seeing each other, Charlie can’t wait to finally see his dad.  In fact, he is the one who arranged this lunch with his father.  His excitement is obvious since as he sees his dad walking through the train station, he admits that he is “terribly happy to see him again” (Cheever 1). Unfortunately, Charlie didn’t get to bond with his dad at all.  They go from restaurant to restaurant and didn’t even get to have a conversation besides the one time his dad “cross- questioned” him about baseball (Cheever 2).  By the end of their reunion, Charlie barely says more than a few words to his dad. Although their past relationship is never brought up and the reader doesn’t know their history, the fact is that Charlie is excited about this future experience.  His dad, however, makes no real attempt to get to know his son. He puts forth no effort and therefore, everything that Charlie hopes for never happens.    Clearly, sympathy should be felt for Charlie who never gets the father-son reunion he so desperately wants.
