Highlight of Current Activities
TIA members working closely through their partnership in 3GPP2 to develop specifications to support cdma2000®-based Femtocells Extensive work has been done in all areas System requirements Security aspects Air interface (radio) enhancements Support for legacy 1x circuit services Packet data services for 1x and HRPD (EV-DO) First set of standards (Revision 0) published 1Q2010. Second set of standards (Revision A) published 2Q2012.

Revision A Standard Features
Two types of architectures to support 1x voice services SIP Application Service (AS) in an IMS network Connectivity to MSC or MSCe Support of CDMA supplementary voice services. Evolved High Rate Packet Data (eHRPD) Femto support (eFAP). Allows eFAP to connect to a HSGW (HRPD Serving Gateway). Handoff Support Between a eHRPD macro network and a eFAP (handin and handout). Between a HRPD macro network and a FAP (handin and handout)

Highlight of Current Activities
Relationship with Broadband Forum has been established for publication of Femtocell Data Management Objects Publication of data management objects with BBF in Dec. 2011, TSB-1188 Femtocell Configuration Parameter
5
Strategic Direction Ongoing coordination with Broadband Forum for publication of Femtocell Management Objects Ongoing coordination with Femto Forum to address industry considerations
6
Challenges Regulatory Issues for Femtocells
Femto Lawfully Authorized Electronic Surveillance (LAES) Report V1.0 finalized 4Q2010 is used as a reference for the TIA TR45.8 Lawful Intercept Group (LIG) present activity on TIA-PN 4986 : “LAES for cdma2000® Femtocells” The study for a cdma2000 ® Femtocell Lawful Interception Implementation Guide is on hold for potential continuation or incorporation in the TIA-PN work, including the LIG relook of the Femto LAES study V1.0 content.
7
Possible Future Femto Enhancements
No further enhancements planned.
