2 Key Findings – Brazil The nature of online risk types: The risks that stood out for Brazil compared to the world included: 1) encountering fake news 2) receiving offensive or obscene content, and 3) being asked inappropriate or personal questions by a stranger Our social circles became more risky: Within Brazil, risks stemming from family and friends increased significantly to 23% -- a 10% gain from the previous year The pain from online risks was significant: Within Brazil, moderate to severe pain was experienced by 56% of consumers, in line with the global average Consequences were up; positive actions were down: Brazil showed much greater drops in positive actions taken following online risk exposure compared to the global average  Baby boomers were less affected by risks: Baby boomers in Brazil suffered reduced levels of moderate to severe pain compared to their global peers (33% vs. 39%) There was a surge in teens asking for help. There was a large increase in teenagers asking for help with an online risk compared to the prior year: a 49% increase in those seeking help from parents and a 33% increase in those contacting other trusted adults Improvement in Digital Civility Index (DCI): Brazil’s DCI (-1) registered a slight gain at 70, and ranks 13 for DCI of the 22 countries surveyed

4 Social circles became riskier in Brazil

7 Baby Boomers are less affected

8 More teens asked for help with online risks
Worldwide, there was a big surge in teenagers asking for help with online risks from both parents (+32 points to 42%) and adults (+19 points to 28%) Noticeably more teenagers in Brazil asked their parents or another trusted adult for help with an online issue compared to the global average There was a huge increase in Brazilian teenagers asking for help compared to the prior year; 49% more teens asked their parents for help, and 33% more sought guidance from other adults Asking parents for help jumped 49-points Asking an adult for help rose 33-points Q12: Have you ever taken any of the following actions after you were treated in an unsafe or uncivil manner online?
