1 IEEE 802.11 Coexistence SC closing report in Warsaw in May 2018
July 2010 doc.: IEEE /0xxxr0 IEEE Coexistence SC closing report in Warsaw in May 2018 10 May 2018 Authors: Name Company Phone Andrew Myles Cisco Andrew Myles, Cisco Andrew Myles, Cisco

2 IEEE Coexistence SC achieved its goals as an effective discussion forum for coexistence issues IEEE Coex SC achievements in Warsaw in May 2018 (agenda) Discussed adaptivity clause in EN Agreed (11/0/10) to endorse a submission to ETSI BRAN related to adaptivity Reviewed results of recent 3GPP RAN1 meeting Key message stakeholders need to get more involved in NR-U/ coexistence discussion, particularly related to coex simulations Noted 3GPP RAN1 consider 6GHz to be greenfield, and so will not have any coexistence benefits based on incumbency; there are proposals that suggest 3GPP believe may not have access to some of 6GHz Discussed possibility of better communications with 3GPP; possibly using workshop (in Sept?) Action for Coex SC participants to suggest when, what and how! Did not address a variety of other agenda items Ran out of time! Andrew Myles, Cisco

3 The SC is proposing a motion to endorse adaptivity refinements to EN 301 893
Motion in SC The IEEE Coex SC recommends that the material in be sent to ETSI BRAN, expressing support for a refinement to the adaptivity clause in EN Result: Passed 11/0//10 Proposed motion for WG The IEEE WG approves the material in as a LS to ETSI BRAN that endorses adaptivity refinements in EN Moved: Andrew Myles Seconded: Note: the text in is the same as approved by the SC with a reference added to TR as directed by the SC Andrew Myles, Cisco

4 IEEE 802.11 Coexistence SC will continue its work in San Diego after ETSI BRAN meeting in June 2018
IEEE Coexistence SC will meet in San Diego in July 2018 Continue to act as a forum for discussion of coexistence issues between IEEE and non-IEEE 802 technologies Review results of ETSI BRAN meeting in June wrt coexistence Review results of most recent 3GPP RAN1 meeting wrt coexistence Consider organising 6GHz Coex Workshop Call to action Coexistence with unlicensed LTE and NR-U is vital for future success of , in both 5GHz band (where is incumbent) & 6GHz band (where the rules might be quite different) If you care then you need to get involved; leaving it to a few individuals or a few companies may lead to an undesirable result! Andrew Myles, Cisco
