Play simple tunes on open strings only

Warm-Up Question: Name three things that you learned on Day One about the ukulele. Write a star (*) next to the facts that you didn’t know before
Today’s Goals:
Improvise on open strings to the 12-Bar Blues
Play simple songs on open strings only
Write a song using open strings only

4. Day Three: Warm-Up Questions: Today’s Goals
What are the four strings of the ukulele. (from the top to the bottom)

Today’s Goals
Today we will learn how to read chord diagrams
We will learn to play the chords C7, C, Fsus2, & Am
1A – listen to Row 2 play “Ring Around the Rosie”

5. Day Four:

Today we will learn to play “D” and “High C” on the ukulele
Play simple melodies using open strings & “D” and “High C”
Play A pentatonic scale
Begin writing a melody using open strings and “D” and “High C”

6. Day Five:
Warm-Up Question: What notes are in the pentatonic scale. (hint: we played one last class)
Today’s Goals
Write a melody using open strings and “D” and “high C”
Learn to play F and G7 chords

7. Day Six: Warm up Questions: Today’s Goals:
Describe one challenge that you have experienced with learning to play the ukulele. (If there are no challenges – what is something that you would like to learn that you feel would be challenging)
Describe one aspect of playing ukulele that you feel confident about. (a succuss)

Today we will learn to play “Mustang Sally” and “Lava”
Try out easy uke songs to prepare for Ukulele recital (on Day 10)

8. Day Seven:

We will play along to YouTube Sing and Play along videos in preparation for our ukulele recital day (on Day 10)

We will play along to YouTube Sing and Play along videos in preparation for our ukulele recital day (on Day 10)

10. Day Nine:
Warm-Up Question: List three tips for practicing that will help you prepare for our ukulele recital. (next class)

Today you will have the whole period to practice your song for our ukulele recital which will occur in our next class.
