Among the Hidden is a dystopian young adult novel by Margaret Peterson Haddix. This is the story about the main character, Luke Gardner, who is a third child. In the world that Luke lives in, parents are only allowed to have two children, and any additional children will be killed. 1

3. Crash
John Coogan is a seventh grader who loves sports and is very good at them. He has been athletic and competitive since he was a little boy, which was when he got the nickname 'Crash.' At the beginning of the book, Crash is a bully who picks on other people.
