The word “trial” defined
The word trial is defined as “a test of someone’s ability to do or endure something.” Words such as tribulation, temptation, affliction, and problems are often associated with the word trial.

Trials of life can help strengthen one’s faith
James informs us that the testing of one’s faith produces patience. (James 1:2-3) The trial of one’s faith is precious. (1 Pet. 1:3-9) Do not be one who wavers during the trials of life. (Matt. 13:20-21) Let’s all strive to be one who endures the trials of life. (Matt. 10:22)

Trials of life can help humble us
Nebuchadnezzar was humbled. (Dan. 4:28-37) Do not deceive yourself. (Gal. 6:3; 1 Cor. 10:12) Pride goes before destruction. (Prov. 16:18-19) Serve the Lord with all humility during the trials of life. (2 Cor. 11:23-28; Acts 20:18-19)

Trials of life can help better equip us to serve others
Bear one another’s burdens. (Gal. 6:2) Look out for the interest of others. (Phil. 2:3-4) Greatness is in serving. (Mark 10:35-45)

Trials of life can help draw us closer to God
It is good to draw near to God. (Psalm 73:28) Be one who draws near to God. (James 4:8) Diligently seek the Lord. (2 Chr. 15:2; Isa. 55:6) God’s ways are not our ways. (Isa. 55:8-9)

What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Hear the word of God. (Romans 10:17) Believe in Jesus Christ. (Acts 8:37) Repent of sins. (Acts 17:30) Confess Jesus Christ. (Matthew 10:32) Be baptized to wash away sins. (Acts 22:16) Remain faithful unto death. (Revelation 2:10)
