Media Center Visits The Media Center is open in the morning at 9:00 a.m. You may visit the media center during your scheduled lunch time. You may visit the media center as a scheduled class or by pass with your teacher’s permission.

Backpacks: Place backpacks against the wall just outside either side of the media center front doors below the yellow signs. Take everything you need before leaving your backpack (pencil, paper, book, etc.) You will not be allowed to return to your backpack Please do not leave valuables! Backpacks are NOT allowed during class visits! Mornings or lunch times only.

Sign In Please sign in for library use at the circulation desk
Be sure to leave your pass at the desk.

Circulation Books Audio Books Periodicals
You may borrow up to three items!

Checked out for 2 weeks You may renew these once Return all items in the book drop Periodicals: Checked out overnight Due before school the next day

Audio Books Cassette, CD, or Playaway
Cassette & CD player available to check out Use own earbuds or purchase for $2.00 Must check out both the audio book & the book in print Take special care! Audio books can cost up to $65.00 to replace!! Check the list near the front entrance or go to the “Playaway” shelf find audio books.

Overdue Fines Books - $.10 per day Periodicals -$.05 per hour

Grace period Books have a 3 day grace period
Periodicals have a 2 hour grace period You may complete chores to work off what you owe in fines. Sorry, No grace at the end of the school year!

Overdue Books / Fines Check your date due card and notices when received 1st offense – warning 2nd offense – not allowed to check out books until debts are clear Speak with Mrs. Woodbrey or Mrs. Starrak about ways to be responsible with library books.

Housekeeping Please push in chairs
Please do not tip back in chairs, sit on tables, or spin in computer chairs Please return books and periodicals properly. Please use bookmarks! NO water, gum, candy, food, drink, electronics, hats, hairbrushes, or make-up

Housekeeping Please have your due date card(s) checked at the door before leaving Use the front entrance only (side at lunch) Please place garbage in the trash and paper in the recycle bin The library staff does not issue bathroom passes

Copies Mrs. Woodbrey or Mrs. Starrak will make copies for $.10 per page We cannot guarantee a perfect copy

Computer Use Guidelines
Please sign the clipboard to use computer. Be sure to include your name, the time, & the date. Take the number with you to the computer. Place card number with corresponding computer number. You may also sign out headphones. Computers are for research and work only; NO GAMES, chats, or . No spinning in chairs!

Computer Use Guidelines
Understand that searching inappropriate sites will result in your losing computer privileges for the remainder of the year. Use your username and password only! Log off when you are finished. No social network sites, games, chat rooms, downloads, bookmarks, or nonacademic blogs. Do not change computer/control panel settings, screen background, or Internet homepage. Return the computer card number and sign out when finished.

Accelerated Reader AR is a computer-based literature testing program.
Books with “red dots” on the spine are Accelerated Reader books. Check the book lists on the circulation desk or online for titles.

Password: “abc” and then create your own password. Record your user name and password in your S.O. book.

Select “Take Quiz” to begin your AR test

Select “Bookshelf” to see a record of all of the quizzes you have taken. You may NOT take a quiz more than once.
