1. Electric Motorized Bicycle Requirements
-Electric Motorized Bicycles- defined as having “fully operative pedals for propulsion by human power and an electric motor that produces less than a 1000 watt output, are incapable of a speed greater than 20 mph on level ground, and are incapable of further increasing speed beyond 20 mph using human power in conjunction with the electric motor.”

Electric Motorized Bicycles aren’t motor vehicles (no license, registration, or insurance required)
Rider Required to be at least 16 years old
Bicycle helmet meeting DMV safety guidelines required
Head lamp, tail lamp, stop lamp,
Side and rear reflectors
Adequate Brakes
Mirror
Horn
Muffler
NO modifications to increase speed
NO riding on vehicular crossings
