Earth Science the study of the non-living parts of Earth including rocks, soil, oceans, and the atmosphere. examples of Earth Scientists geologist – rocks and minerals meteorologist – weather oceanographer - ocean

Physical Science* study chemicals, force, motion, energy
examples of physical scientists physicist – force and motion chemist – combines different chemicals to make new substances engineer - builds new structures and machines

Life Science* Study living things examples of life scientists biologist – humans and animals botanist – plants marine biologist – ocean life

Scientific Theory Vs. Scientific Law
*Scientific Theory-explanation based on knowledge gained from many observations and investigations *Scientific Law- rule that describes a pattern in nature (happens all of the time no matter what)
