3 The Importance of Process
Destination Imagination is a process of learning. Focus on the team’s progress – teamwork, collaboration, project management, planning, creativity, etc. The tournament is only one part of the process

4 Team Manager (TM) Responsibilities
Know the rules of the program – “Rules of the Road” Point team to relevant sections Prepare – Training, Roadmap and Travel Guide for Teams Organize team meetings Maintain a safe environment Keep team members on task Provide access to resources Guide team through the creative process from imagination to innovation Actively avoid Interference By using the Roadmap, DI University (diuniversity.org), and the content of this training presentation Team Managers should feel comfortable with the various aspects of the Destination Imagination program. This training will focus on the learning interactions of the Team Manager with the team. We want to equip all TMs to effectively guide teams through the creative process. By doing so, TMs can help to meet our goal of teaching the creative process from imagination to innovation. 4

Many new Team Managers are not familiar with quality team-building activities and will greatly appreciate the various options and possibilities. Also, feel free to include some of your own favorites, the more helpful information you can provide TMs the better. 16

Your Team Challenge solution is owned and operated by your team! Every idea for every part of the team’s solution must come from team members. After your team has decided which ideas they will use, it is up to the team to make them happen. 49
