2 Do Now: Take out your H.W. and leave on desk.
What are some things that you notice? What are some things that you wonder?

3 Today’s Objective: I will use my knowledge of decimal placement in the divisor and the dividend and its connection to multiplying by powers of 10. So I can understand the concept of dividing multi-digit numbers to solve for quotients of multi-digit decimals I will demonstrate my understanding by verbally discussing with my partners, and writing the solution to 2 or more real world problems with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.B.3

4 Academic “math language” Vocabulary:
Multi-digits Decimal Place value Dividend Divisor Quotient Powers of 10

5 Notes Practice H.W/T.T.G

6 Pg. 67 #2 ÷ 0.6 x = I multiplied both the dividend and the divisor by ten, or by one power of ten, so each decimal point moved one place to the right because they grew larger by ten.

7 Pg. 67 #4 ÷ 0.009 x = I multiplied both the dividend and the divisor by one thousand, or by three powers of ten, so each decimal point moved three places to the right because they grew larger by one thousand.

8 Do problems 1,3, 5 and 6 on page 67 (YOU ARE NOT SOLVING, YOU ARE SETTING UP THE FRACTIONS LIKE THE EXAMPLES). (5 min)
