1. Module 4: Becoming a YES Person
Using the “Becoming a Yes Person” handout, the teacher facilitates a whole-class discussion of the meanings and key concepts of a person’s ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ worlds.
For example, you can ask which responses they tend to use in various situations. You can ask them when they’ve seen/heard other people use various response. You can give situations and ask the students to give their responses.

In pairs, students work out from their response on the “Becoming a Yes Person” activity whether they are ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ type people.

3. Journal Topic for Today
Write three or more sentences describing and explaining how negative and positive self-talk have affected the way you feel and your ability to succeed at whatever you are trying to do, whether it’s a game, a project at home, school work, or a skill.
This ends the activity. Possible stretch activity is to have student volunteers share. Do not require sharing.
