ZINC FUNCTIONS- tissue growth and wound healing, part of many enzymes in energy and nucleic acid metabolism immune function, vitamin a transport, insulin function SOURCES- meat, fish, poultry, beans DEFICIENCIES- function impairment -eg abnormal glucose transport TOXICITIES- elevated bad cholesterol and decreased good cholesterol, vomiting, impaired calcium absorption

growth development and metabolic rate SOURCES- seafood, iodized salt, bread DEFICIENCIES- weight gain, lethargy TOXICITIES- enlarged thyroid gland

MANGANESE FUNCTIONS- part of enzymes in fat synthesis, growth, and blood clotting SOURCES - widely distributed in foods DEFICIENCIES - rare TOXICITIES – rare -nervous system disorders

resistance to dental decay, bone formation and integrity SOURCES- fluoridated water(natural or otherwise, tea) DEFICIENCIES- teeth decay, osteoporosis TOXICITIES – mottling of teeth, nausea, vomiting
